In January 2007, CAT granted iCo an exclusive worldwide licence for the development and commercialisation of CAT-213. This human monoclonal antibody product candidate was previously developed by CAT as a potential treatment for allergy disorders including asthma, allergic rhinitis and allergic conjunctivitis.
Under the terms of the agreement, iCo Therapeutics will pay CAT an upfront fee, milestone payments for key clinical and regulatory achievements, and royalties on potential future sales. iCo Therapeutics, a Vancouver-based emerging biotechnology company, will have sole responsibility for all future clinical development and the commercialisation of CAT-213 as a potential treatment for ocular allergies, including allergic conjunctivitis.
